SCORE, counselors to America's Small Business is a non-profit, national organization made up of volunteers from all backgrounds coming together as a team to complete a common goal:

To help small businesses succeed.

The SCORE Ventura County Chapter is always looking for community-conscious individuals, men and women who enjoy learning, problem-solving business challenges and sharing their knowledge with emerging and in-business entrepreneurs. SCORE volunteers help in a variety of meaningful areas:

• Face to face counseling with new start-ups and existing small business throughout Ventura County and Malibu
• On-site mentoring
• Workshops that include How to Start and Manage a Business; Marketing; Financial planning; Website Marketing; Internet development; how to do business with the government; non-profit organization management. We can create any workshop that would benefit the small business entrepreneur.

We need volunteers to help with administration work as well; fund raising; and variety of other areas.

Nationwide SCORE is comprised of over 11,000 men and women, retired and working, donate their time and talent to assist America's entrepreneurs. At our 389 SCORE offices, volunteers provide confidential one-to-one and team business counseling and low-cost entrepreneurial training workshops and seminars. In addition, many counselors are virtual volunteers, providing email counseling directly from their homes or offices.

As a SCORE volunteer, you will:

• Be a leader in the effort to provide real-world assistance to small businesses (over 69,000 in Ventura County).
• Gain fulfillment by sharing your business experience and expertise with a new generation of entrepreneurs.
• Build relationships with local business leaders to provide economic growth and employment opportunities in the local area.
• Connect with entrepreneurs though counseling, or share your knowledge at SCORE's entrepreneurial training workshops.
